Sun City Singers Spring concert

and Sun City concert-goers will feel more alive Annual Sun City Garden Tour - NEW!
when they attend the Sun City Singers spring
concert, A Night on Broadway, set for April 12
and 13 at 7 p.m. in the Social Center Ballroom. Sunday, April 30, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Singers’ director Georgia Parmelee has selected an array of
music to please any musical-theater aficionado, including a
medley of longtime favorites by Rodgers and Hammerstein from
the award-winning stage plays Oklahoma, South Pacific, The
King and I and The Sound of Music. The Singers also will offer
selections from Les Miserables, The Phantom of the Opera and
Sweet Charity.
For a special treat, there will be a pre-concert performance by
the Armadillo Swing Band from 6:30-7 p.m. Tickets are $10
and will be available March 1 at the Member Services Office
or online at www.sctexas.org. These concerts sell out quickly,
so get your tickets early.

Richard Goodwin’s memoir Remembering
America: A Voice from the Sixties, this film
chronicles the scandals of the Twenty One
television quiz show of the 1950s, the rise and Reserved seating by table
fall of popular contestant Charles Von Doren after the rigged
loss of Herb Stempel.

Singer/songwriter Danny Santos melds the
inspiration of his Chicano heritage, a musical
legacy ranging from Hank Williams to the
Beatles, and a Texas-sized determination to
create a unique mix of country/folk tinged with
bluegrass and the blues. His songs illuminate the joys of true
love, the woes of love lost, and the weary longing of those still
searching for love. The bluegrass/folk quartet will play the
upright bass, guitar, banjo, mandolin and guitar.

Presented by the Sun City Garden Club, the
ninth annual tour includes seven Sun City
yards and the Horticulture Gardens in full
spring bloom. See what plants grow well here
and get great ideas for your own landscape.
Advance tickets for $12 each are good for both days. Purchase
tickets online at www.sctexas.org or at the Sun City Member
Services Office beginning March 13. Advance ticket sales end
on Thursday, April 27 at 4 p.m. Tickets will be $15 at the door.
Tickets are non-refundable.
The tour begins at the Sun City Activities Center, 1 Texas Drive,
where attendees will receive directions and a wristband for
admission to each of the yards. Complimentary coffee, lemonade
and cookies will be available throughout the days of the tour.
Net proceeds benefit Georgetown area charities.

Award-winning songwriter and musician Colby
Pennington, his wife Kimberly and their five
