Following the matinee, we will make a dinner stop at The
Arboretum where you will have a choice of these fine restaurants:
The Cheesecake Factory, Brio Tuscan Grille, The Blue Baker,
Estancia Brazilian Steakhouse, or Five Guys Burgers and Amy’s
Ice Cream. Maps and menus provided.
Ticket cost includes transportation and first tier, center seats
for the matinee.

Celebrate the holidays with the one of to enjoy a radio performance of “A Christmas Carol” performed
a kind $2 million exhibit of The 12 Days of
Christmas at the Dallas Arboretum and
Gardens. The exhibit features 25 foot tall
gazebos, one for each day of the popular carol.
Within the glass enclosed gazebos, viewable from all sides, are
full size Victorian costumed characters and jeweled animals.
The gazebos were designed and built by the team that creates
sets and costumes for the Dallas Opera, all locally sourced from
Texas. Along with the exhibit, the DeGolyer Estate will be
decorated top to bottom and filled with hundreds of nativity sets
from around the world. NOTE: You will be standing and
walking in the gardens over gravel and uneven paths so
dress warm and wear comfortable shoes.
After viewing the gardens and estate, we travel to North Park
Mall, the premier shopping center of Texas, offering luxury as
well as traditional shopping. Their holiday decorations are a

must see. You will be on your own to have a cup of coffee, eat
at one of the many restaurants or just browse. We will make a
rest stop both going and returning home at Slovacek’s in West.
Ticket cost includes transportation and Arboretum admission.

“A Christmas Carol” – Old Settlers Hall
Round Rock - NEW!
Dinner – Family Style Buffet – The Salt Lick
Thursday, December 10, $74 pp
Depart SCPL 5:30 p.m.; Return 10:30 p.m.
Join us for an outing to Round Rock
beginning at Salt Lick Restaurant for their
Family Style Buffet (www.saltlick.com). As
posted on their website, this meal includes
“heaping helpings of beef, sausage, and pork
ribs served with potato salad, coleslaw, beans, bread, pickles,
and onion.” Beverages available for individual purchase.
After dinner we will travel a short distance to Old Settlers Hall
by The Penfold Theatre Company (www.penfoldtheatre.org). The
players will perform the much-loved traditional story at a fictional
KPNF radio station reminiscent of A Prairie Home Companion,
including virtuosic voice actors and live foley sound effects. This
will be a great way to enjoy special holiday entertainment!
Ticket cost includes dinner and theater ticket (general admission
with an area set aside for us). Only 25 tickets to be sold.
