Celebrate the season watching the
annual Fredericksburg Main Street Christmas
Parade. Holiday vendors will be featured on
the downtown square amidst a scene of holiday
lights and figurines, the community’s 30-foot
Christmas tree filled with hand-crafted ornaments by local
artisans, and the 26-foot tall Christmas pyramid, a hand-made
fixture from Germany which rotates various directions and
spotlights different layers of holiday ornamentation. The
Nikolausmarkt (Christmas Market) on Marktplatz, as well as
the Main Street boutiques and shops will be open for Christmas
shopping.
You will eat dinner on your own at your choice of restaurants in
the downtown area. The lighted Christmas Parade begins at 6:30
p.m. We will board the bus at 7:45 p.m. and drive through Johnson
City, where we will view the Blanco County Court House lights
(we will not get off the bus); then we will go to the Pedernales
Electric Co-Op Headquarters to see their spectacular light display,
where we will get off the bus for 15 minutes. From Johnson City
we will drive back to Sun City.
Ticket cost includes transportation only. NOTE: This is an
outside event, so watch the weather forecast and dress
appropriately. Standing required for parade watching.
Trip may be canceled if the roads are icy.
