If you are replacing a dead tree with
a tree from Appendix E in the Design
Guidelines, you won’t need a permit as
long as you plant the tree at least twenty
feet from any other tree, ten feet from
the property line, and within two feet of
the removed tree. Also on the “No Pa-
perwork” list is the removal of any tree
not named in Appendix E’s Native Tree
list and any tree measuring less than
19” in circumference.
PAINT COLORS
Paint colors can be found on the new
website by visiting
;
then do the following:
• Log in with your Member ID and
password
• Click on Departments & Hours
• Click on Community Standards
• Click on Paint Schema
You will need to know your home’s model
name in order to choose the correct se-
ries of paint colors. This information can
be found under HOUSE MODELS. If
you are simply retouching your home’s
current colors, you won’t need to fill out
a B-2 form for approval. For help in re-
searching your paint colors when you
don’t have them with your sales docu-
ments, come by the Community Stan-
dards Office and we’ll be happy to work
with you.
HOLIDAY DECORATIONS
For a period beginning one week prior to,
and for one week after, you can display
decorations appropriate to the holiday.
March has two holidays: Texas Inde-
pendence Day on March 2 and Saint
Patrick’s Day on March 17.
DISPLAY OF MODIFICATION
PERMITS
Finally, modification permits need only
be displayed while the project is ongoing
and may be removed when the project
is complete. The bottom portion of the
permit is for office use only. A community
standards inspector will not come by to
sign your permit, so you can post the
permit on the inside of a front window
while the project is in progress.

Golf Carts and
Grandkids: Say NO!
Many grandchildren will be in
our community for the spring
break holiday, and there will be a
temptation to allow them to drive a
golf cart. However, it is against the
law and extremely dangerous for
anyone under the age of 16 and/or
anyone without a driver’s license to
drive a golf cart. Please, DO NOT
let grandkids get behind the wheel;
Georgetown police officers may is-
sue you a ticket.

Prepared by Chuck Puckhaber, COPs Trainer
10/07 – 8:12 p.m., Patrol #1
– Per a
call from the Texas Drive CA Monitor,
checked The Oaks’ kitchen door. Found
it open, but could not lock it. Notified
Monitor of the problem.
10/09 – 2:30 p.m., Patrol #1
– Noti-
fied Monitor of a disabled golf cart off
Sun City Boulevard near White Wing
Hole #1.
10/10 – 7 p.m., Patrol #2
– Called
Carlton Mathis, CA Water Manager, to
report a sprinkler head “fountaining” on
the Del Web Boulevard median at the
intersection of Doublefire Trail.
10/10 – 6 p.m., Patrol #2
– Received a
call from a resident concerned about an
unknown car parked in his driveway.
Checked on the car and found it locked
with no one inside. Resident and his wife
reiterated that they did not recognize the
vehicle and that they had not authorized
anyone to use their driveway. A neighbor
also stated that he was unfamiliar with
the vehicle. On the resident’s behalf, we
called the Georgetown Police non-emer-
gency number and were assured an of-
ficer would be dispatched to look into the
situation. The remainder of the evening
was unremarkable, and the strange car
was gone by 8 p.m.
10/31 – 3 p.m., Patrol #1
– Assisted
resident with directions.
11/08 – Time Unspecified, Patrol #2
– Received a call from a resident that
a neighbor’s “911 light” was blinking.
Made contact with the resident in ques-
tion and found that they were new to
Sun City Texas and as such were unfa-
miliar with the “911” switch. Explained
the light’s functioning to them and was
thanked.
11/16 - 5:45 p.m., Patrol #1
– Flagged
down by two drivers who were concerned
about the welfare of an individual who
was driving erratically. Checked on
driver when their vehicle had stopped
– driver was fine, but had a problemwith
ice on the windshield.
11/22 - 9:10 p.m., Patrol #2
– Called
the CA Monitor’s Desk to report trash,
old office chair and several potted dead
plants left in front of the LHP dumpster.
NOTE: This issue occurred at least twice
during this quarter. This dumpster is
ONLY to be used for LHP trash and not
for household or yard trash. Also, NO
trash is to be left on the ground, as the
dumpster truck cannot take such trash.
11/26 - 10:30 a.m., Patrol #2
– A resi-
dent had fallen in the street on Nolan
Drive. Assessed the situation and felt all
he needed was a ride home. Gave him a
ride home and notified the man’s neigh-
bor of the situation.
12/20 - 7:25 a.m., Patrol #2
– Notified
by a resident that Henry, a lost dog, had
been spotted near her residence. Went
to that location and found the dog in the
area. Notified the owner and kept track
of Henry until the owner arrived.
