Most of you may know what the Pet Club
of Sun City Texas does during the year.
Our club provides each member with the
opportunity to associate with other ani-
mal owners and lovers. General training
classes are offered, as well as classes for
Pet Partners Therapy Dogs and R.E.A.D.
sessions.
The club holds informational meetings
several times a year. Guest speakers are
experts in dog and cat nutrition, animal
behavior, dog and cat rescue, service dogs,
and dog obedience.
Fun events are organized for both our two-
and four-legged participants, including the
Fourth of July Parade and Christmas at
the Bark Park.
Bark Park
Although the Bark Park does not belong
to nor is it maintained by the Pet Club
(but by the Community Association), we
are proud of our wonderful facility where
dogs can play without concern for safety.
Do you know about the Bark Park? There
are fenced, well-shaded areas for both large
and small dogs, and seating for owners
while their pets get acquainted and play
with other animals. Drive out the “back”
entrance to Sun City Texas (toward High-
way 195) and you’ll see the park alongside
the Horticulture Club’s Organic Gardens
and Del Webb Softball Field. There is plen-
ty of parking and you are always welcome.
Just be sure to keep your dogs leashed
until they are safe within the confines of
the fence. See you there!

New courts: A Big DILL for Pickleball
in Sun City Texas!
On February 19, Pulte turned over two
new Pickleball Courts to the CA! Since
the Pickleball Club membership has
grown so dramatically, Pulte Homes has
been kind enough to upgrade the facilities
by building two new courts (with lighting
to facilitate evening play).
These courts will greatly facilitate train-
ing, and will also reduce wait time and
increase playing time. We are truly
thankful, Pulte!
This is a big dill, uh deal, because players
can now come to the courts at any time
and/or get into a game. There is no need
to reserve a court, just put on your court
shoes and workout clothes and stop by!
The opening ceremony was attended by
Brent Baker, Pulte Vice President of
Land Development and President of the
CA Board of Directors; Mayor George
Garver; Councilman Steve Fought; and
Jim Romine, CA Executive Director.
CA Board members Glynn Hatley, Kim
Moran and Dennis Walker were also in
