APRIL YARD of the Month
Phil and Jill Hickok • 311 Pipe Creek Lane (N54)
Phil and Jill landscaped their yard to please the eye while creating an
environment for hummingbirds and butterflies. Water conservation
is a key element in the design using drip irrigation and plants that
have minimal water requirements. A contractor installed the stone
garden beds that Jill and Phil filled with heavily composted topsoil.
Additionally, there are planting pots dispersed throughout to add
color, texture and added options for plant presentation. Plantings
include Texas sage, crape and wax myrtle, velvet senna, milkweed,
esperanza, Pride of Barbados, blue mistflower, bottlebrush, fall
aster, and Mexican marigold, to name a few. Garlic and shallots are
included for variety.

Catch of the Day!
Clay Harbison, 13-year-old grandson of Doug and
LindaWolnitzek (N52), caught this 47-inch catfish
at Berry Creek Pond in December. This expert
fisherman did return the prize fish back to the
pond, but this shot was snapped to remember
the achievement!
