The following special events are taking place in March.
GEORGETOWN SYMPHONY
On Sunday, March 2 at 4 p.m. at the GHS
Klett Center for the Performing Arts, the
Georgetown Symphony Society will pres-
ent the Temple Symphony Orchestra in a
program of “Great Overtures” by compos-
ers ranging from Tchaikovsky to Bern-
stein. Tickets ($30 for adults in Premium
Seating, $25 in General Seating, $5 for
students in either section) are available at

WILCO GENEALOGICAL SOCIETY
TheWilliamsonCountyGenealogical Soci-
ety’s annual seminar will be on Saturday,
March 15 at the First Methodist Church,
1004 North Mays in Round Rock. Regis-
tration and vendors start at 8 a.m. Guest
speaker is Colleen Fitzpatrick and her
topics will be “Forensic Genealogy,” “The

GEORGETOWN QUILT SHOW
TheGeorgetownQuilt and Stitchery Show,
sponsored by Handcrafts Unlimited, will
be Friday and Saturday, March 21-22,
from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Community
Center, 445 E. MorrowSt. in San Gabriel
Park. The event will have a silent auction,
vendors, a raffle quilt, scissor sharpen-

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS BINGO
Bingo in the Ballroomwill be on Sunday,
March 23 in the Social Center Ballroom.
Doors open at 5 p.m., and games start at
6 p.m. Cash prizes will be awarded. All
proceeds are used to support various chari-

CASINO NIGHT FUNDRAISER
On Saturday, March 29 at 6 p.m. in the
Social Center Ballroom, Drops of Grace
will host their fifth annual Ripple Effect
banquet. Tickets are $60 per person or
$100 per couple and include casino games,
dinner, dessert and an open bar. Therewill
be fabulous silent auction items and door

GEORGETOWN LIBRARY ART
The library welcomes their first art ex-
hibit by a father and daughter during the
month of March. Nancy Keels Yarbrough,
of Boerne, Texas, is displayingWatercolor
art. Shewon “Best of Show” forWatercolor
this year at the Boerne Art League’s year-
ly event. Her father, BobKeels, is showing
his photographs. He has been a member
of what is now the Sun City Photography
Club since 2002. Their exhibit will be on
display fromMarch 2 until March 29.
EAGLE BAND BASKET RAFFLE
The Georgetown High School Band will
host a fundraising Garage Sale and Bas-
ket Raffle from 7:30 a.m. to noon on Sat-
urday, March 29 at the GeorgetownHigh
School Music Building, 2211 N. Austin
Ave. Early bird raffle prices are six (6) for
$5. To donate items for the Garage Sale,
drop off will be from 4-7 p.m. on March
26-27, and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on March 28
at the Music Building. Proceeds support

AARP TAX-AIDE PROGRAM
The nation’s largest volunteer-run tax
preparation and assistance service offers
special attention to those age 60 and older.
Assistancewill be available every Tuesday
from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and every
Wednesday from12:30-4:30 p.m., through
April 10 at CowanCreekAmenity Center.
Please bring the following:
• copy of last year’s income tax return(s);
• W-2 forms from each employer;
• unemployment compensation state-
ments;
• SSA-1099 form if you received Social
Security benefits;
• all 1099 forms (1099-INT, 1099-DIV,
1099-B, etc.)
• 1099-Misc. showing any miscella-
neous income;
• 1099-R form if you received a pension
or annuity;
• all forms indicating federal income
tax paid;
• all receipts or canceled checks if item-
izing deductions;
• Social Security cards or other official
documentation for yourself and all
dependents.
GISD MENTOR PROGRAM
Mentoring can make a big difference in
a child’s life. By dedicating as little as 30
minutes a week with a student, you can
improve self-esteem and academic skills,
and support new attitudes and ambitions.
