Fort Hood is one of the largest US military installations in the world and the home of many units:  III Corps, 1st Cavalry Division, First Army Division West, 41st Fire Brigade, plus many others.

Travel to this famed facility to see a performance of the First Cavalry Division Horse Detachment, tour the horse barns and speak with soldiers in that unit, eat a cafeteria-style lunch at the base dining facility, fire weapons simulators, visit the First Cavalry Division Museum, and see many other interesting parts of the base. When we arrive two soldiers will board the bus and serve as our tour guides.

Notes:  All activities are subject to change! No part of the itinerary is guaranteed, as the base is dedicated to its operations and imperatives, but hopefully our trip will go as planned.  No weapons permitted on base.  Bring your photo id (driver’s license).

Additional notes:  This tour requires getting on and off the bus several times and walking on uneven ground. Cameras and cell phones are permitted. Bring your own snacks and beverages due to limited availability on the tour.  A long-standing Sun City tradition is to bring cookies for the soldiers, which are always welcome! Please put them in Ziploc bags or disposable containers.

Ticket cost includes transportation, tour, and lunch.
