It’s the holiday season! Enjoy some
of Austin’s holiday decorations as we have
dinner on your own at The Domain. View the
huge, decorated Christmas tree in front of
Macy’s and holiday finery along the streets as well as decorations
in the many stores. Numerous restaurant options include
Blackfinn AmeriPub, Daily Grill, North, Cru Wine Bar, California
Pizza, Kona Grill and others. I will provide a map and tell you
about their menus.
Following dinner, we go to the 700 seat venue, Bates Hall, to
enjoy the UT Symphony Orchestra with Maestro Zimmerman,
artistic director since 2006. One of the top college orchestras in the
country, the UTSO is a full-sized symphony orchestra with 60-90
performers. Our repertoire this evening will be Richard Strauss’
Sereneade in E flat Major and Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 5.
Note: There are a few steps to enter the building and a
long walk once inside to access elevators and stairs.
Ticket cost includes transportation and concert.

Christmas, the happiest time of the
year and the season to be merry, comes with
holiday magic and joy, including gifts to family
and friends. Enjoy the largest covered mall in
Austin, Barton Creek Mall, where you can shop ‘til you drop.
With more than 180 specialty shops and anchor stores, including
Nordstrom, Dillard’s and Macy’s, you will find everything you
need for all of your loved ones.
If you need a shopping break, enjoy a movie. Of course, there are
restaurants and the all-inclusive food court. Mall maps will be
provided. There will be plenty of storage on the bus for purchases.
Ticket cost includes transportation only.
