You can play an active role in providing feedback to the CA
board and staff by serving on an advisory committee. These
advisory committees assist and advise in the governance of
Sun City. To learn about the activities and responsibilities
of each committee, you can attend committee monthly meet-
ings (listed on page 6 of the Sun Rays) or visit committee
websites at www.sctexas.org (click on Community Associa-
tion Info→click on Committees & Task Forces→click on the
committee of your choice).

Committee applications will be available Aug. 17 at the Moni-
tors’ Desks in the Social Center and the Cowan Creek Amenity
Center. The applications are also available at the Activities
Center and the Texas Drive Fitness Center and on the Nomi-
nating Committee’s website. The deadline to apply is Friday,
Sept. 11. Interviews will be conducted the week of Oct. 12.
There was an outstanding group of applicants this spring to
serve on committees; so if you applied and were not selected
by the CA Board, please do not hesitate to try again.

Community Awards Program
seeks submissions

The Austin Chapter of the Community Association Institute
is currently seeking submissions for their 2015 Community
Awards Program. This program acknowledges well-deserved
excellence in common interest community governance and
stewardship. The “best of the best” will be honored at the an-
nual Community Awards Banquet in October. We participated
in these programs in 2011, 2012 and 2013, winning several
categories. We would like to ask for your involvement in rec-
ognizing Sun City Texas as an amazing community. You can
simply fill out an award entry form for any category at this
