Depart SCPL 4 p.m.; Return 11 p.m.
Rodgers and Hammerstein’s timeless mu-
sical classic,
The King and I
, follows school-
teacher Anna’s travels to Siam to tutor the
King’s many children. A lush production of
lavish sets and costumes, legendary chore-
ography, and an international cast backed by a live orchestra
will draw you in as you hum along.
Set in the 1860s, Anna teaches the King’s wives and children
the ways of the modern world. As she tries to convince the King
to come to terms with the modern world, he finds it hard to
resist ancient customs. Attractive and bold, Anna finally wins
the King’s heart and his respect, as they learn from each other
to combine a bit of the old world with the new.
Before the performance, we will stop at The Domain for din-
ner on your own. From Italian to Asian, American Bistro to
Tex Mex, you will find a wide array of upscale eateries sure to
please even the King of Siam.
