The Poker Club held a Texas Hold’em
No Limit tournament on June 10 with
25 members participating in the event.

August Yard of the Month
Norman and Margaret Leonard

From the looks of the Leonard yard, it is obvious that Margaret has the “advanced”
setting of green thumbs! Here, even the smallest rogue larkspur that peeks its
head up in the pathway is gently transplanted for nurturing in the garden. The
primary focal point is a large raised bed built to protect several trees that were
not initially planted deep enough. The problem quickly turned into opportunity.
The creation of raised beds and addition of stone pathways to allow for musing
around the garden has made for a marked reduction in water bills. The result
is an ongoing changing palette in garden colors and display based upon over
twenty plants that return each year. Be it the leftover lilies from church or way-
ward snapdragons, all plantings thrive under the nurturing attention and green
thumbs of Margaret Leonard!
