he ancient practice of yoga has
recently become more widespread
due to its gentle yet challenging
exercises. The meditative practice works
many different physical and mental as-
pects, frombody alignment and awareness
to better coordination and reduced stress.
The Sun City Texas Fitness Centers offer
multiple yoga classes for levels ranging
from beginner to advanced; however one
of themore popular classes is Gentle Yoga,
offered a few times a week at the Texas
Drive Fitness Center. The class is geared
toward beginners and intermediate-level
yogis, or yoga practitioners. Classes involve
stretching, alignment and breathing ex-
ercises, as well as holding poses for short
periods of time—participantsmust be able
get on and off the floor. Also, please make
sure your instructor is aware of any past
or current injuries.
