The Horticulture Club will hold their
Fall Plant Sale on Saturday, September
28, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Gardens
at 141 Sun City Blvd. We will have a
large variety of landscape plants with
a focus on Texas Native and adapted
plants. You can also pick up lots of fall
vegetables and herbs, as well as Irises
from our own Iris SIG. In the past, we
offered pre-sale orders to Sun City Texas
residents; however, due to manpower
constraints, we can no longer offer this
service. For more information on what
we are planning to sell, please check out
our website under the tab “Plant Sale.”
You can also purchase plants, mulch
and compost year-round in our Nursery
area. Check out the website, under the
tab “FOR SALE.”
If you are interested in Texas native
plants, or if you are new to the area and
wondering what grows well here, come by
the Gardens on Saturday mornings be-
tween 9-11 a.m. and tour our Native Plant
Demonstration Garden along the back
fence. The plants were added in spring
2012, so you can see how mature plants
look after only one year. All have small
signs with the name and growing habits.
