There will be a plant walk led by Art
Gibson on Friday morning, October 27, so that we can get out to see some of the
late-flowering plant species. Meet at The Legacy Hills Pavilion parking
lot at 9 am and we will carpool to Bootys Road Park near the Lake Georgetown
dam. There is a very flat, partially paved path, along which we will find
some of the common local plants, and hopefully some not so common.
Weather should be very pleasant.
To get to the park we will take Williams
Road east past HEB and Starbucks, down to the traffic light directly after
Sonic/swimming pool and take a right on Bootys Road at that Walgreens.
After passing all homes, Bootys Road deadends at the stilling basin below the
dam, but Bootys Road Park is on the left before entering the stilling
basin. If you are driving underneath the D.B. Wood overpass, you have
missed the turn.
