August 2022 - Clint Bond
I came to photography through my dad. He took pictures of everything and most pictures included members of our family. I caught the bug when I served with the Army in Germany and took a mail-order photography class (no internet in the 1970’s). I’ve considered myself a student of photograph ever since.
I’m the guy in our extended family who is always walking around family reunions, and other get-togethers, hoping to capture candid moments. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. The secret though is to keep trying.
During a career as a professional broadcast journalist my horizon expanded to include video. But it is the capture of just the precise moment in a still photo that is truly the golden fleece. As a result, I shoot most things that move and some that don’t. Again, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t.
I shoot with Nikon D850 bodies that I equip with Nikkor and Tamron lenses.
My wife Susan and I left the Dallas area and moved to Sun City in September of 2021 to be closer to our two children and their families.
