JUST THREE WEEKS TO APPLY!
It's Time to Apply for a Sun City Advisory Committee
The Nominating Committee encourages all Sun City residents to consider applying for an Advisory Committee position that reflects your background and talents. Advisory Committees are invaluable to Sun City.
What are Advisory Committees? Sun City Texas has nine Advisory Committees: Chartered Clubs, Covenants, Emergency Management, Finance, Golf, Modifications, Nominating, Property & Grounds and Wildlife Management. These committees are the backbone of resident input and oversight in our community; helping our community run smoothly and making recommendations to the Board of Directors.
Currently there are seven open positions on the various committees. (Covenants does not have an opening.) Applications will be available Monday, Aug. 26 online or at any monitor's desk.
Find Out More!
The Nominating Committee’s webpage provides all of the information you need to make your decision and apply. Click Here (log in required) to read about the committee opening and application process.
Remember that applications are due on Friday, Sept. 13, by 4 p.m..

Inspect Your Sprinkler System
Most of our sprinklers run during the nighttime so we do not see them working. During this very hot and dry period in August, some of our grass areas are not getting the proper amount of water due to sprinklers not working properly or damaged heads.
Please turn on your controllers and run each valve/zone to determine if each sprinkler is working properly. Just turn your controller to “Manual Run” position, set the controller to the respective zone you are trying to observe and “Start” the process.
If you need help with your system review, contact your Neighborhood Water Ambassador or email the Water Matters team at [email protected]. You may also Click Here to request a free Water Matters evaluation of your controller.
Thank YOU for helping Sun City Conserve Water.

A stage 1 drought alert has been declared in Georgetown. Please reduce your irrigation times by 10 percent or by 1 minute per 10 minutes of watering. Only water on your scheduled days and don't water during the hottest hours of the day. Never water on Mondays. Click Here to find your watering days.

SIGN-UP STARTS SEPT. 4
Annual Sun City Deer Census
Submitted by the Wildlife Management Committee
Each year in late summer, the Wildlife Management Committee (WMC) is required by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) to conduct a census of the deer in Sun City. The goal is to provide data that helps in determining trends in deer population. The Wildlife Biologist and WMC will utilize the information to advise the Community Association Board of Directors on deer management.
The volunteer sign-up period for 2019 will be Wednesday, Sept. 4 through Friday, Sept. 6. Sign up at the Texas Drive monitor's desk or online. The deer census has been conducted for 14 years in Sun City. In early September, volunteers are recruited to conduct a repetitive count on three consecutive days. The routes include both walking trails and golf carts driving on streets and on golf course cart paths. This year, the deer census in Sun City will be conducted Monday through Wednesday, Sept. 16-18. Alternative dates for the count, in case of bad weather, will be Sept. 19-20. We anticipate needing 70 to 80 volunteers. Please mark your calendars.

The 2020 Census Comes
Knocking in Sun City Texas
In preparation for the 2020 Census, census workers are already walking Sun City and knocking on doors asking basically two questions: Is this your correct street address and is this a single family home with no other living quarters inside or on the property? The actual census will begin in the spring of 2020.
Census workers are required to wear a photo ID badge. The picture on the right is of Myron Havis. He is a Sun City resident and just one of the census workers canvasing our community.
