Voting Begins May 6
We have two pre-qualified candidates running in this year's Board elections. They are Sandy Goodman and Steve Ricks. Click on their names below to find out about them.
Voting will begin on Monday, May 6, and conclude at the Annual Meeting on Thursday, May 23. Each eligible household in the community will have one vote in the election. Owners of multiple homes or owners who rent their home can vote online by logging on to the website using the Member ID associated with your home. Paper ballots will no longer be mailed. Renters are not eligible to vote.

Question: What do you do with the yard signs now that the elections are over? Answer: Recycle!
The successful candidates would like their signs back to use in future elections and the others would like their signs recycled.
This year only ONE trailer will be provided to collect your yard signs for recycling from May 4 - 8 in the Cowan Creek Golf Club parking lot.

2020 Chartered Club and Neighborhood
Room Requests Due this Month
Soon chartered clubs and neighborhood reps will receive their 2020
room request forms. Completed forms should be deposited in the locked
box labeled for this purpose at the Social Center monitor’s desk. Please be aware that no 2020 room requests will be accepted from chartered clubs or neighborhoods via email.

The final room reservations for 2020 will be sent via email by August 5. A copy will also be placed in your group's folder located at the monitor’s desk in the Social Center.

You Don't Need to Be a Golfer
to Volunteer to Help
There are many opportunities to volunteer for positions such as crossing guards, parking attendants, ball spotters, shuttle drivers and other duties as needed. You can select your volunteer position and date preferences.
We especially need help with parking assistance, crossing guards and shuttling players (you must have your own cart) from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on May 13 & 14 and May 20 & 21.

Help is Needed to Produce
the NRO Bulletin
The current editor of the NRO Bulletin needs your help compiling the Bulletin for publication twice a month. This job can be done in your home with some computer skills. There is no hunting for news, as everyone sends you their articles.
The current editor, Louise Smith, has been doing this job for five years and she will be happy to teach you the ropes. If interested, please contact Louise at [email protected] or 830-613-6917.

Donate Gently Used Children's Books
The Sun City Library is now accepting donations of gently used children’s books. All books ranging from board books to young adult novels are appreciated. Books will be available in the Social Center Lobby for all residents and visiting grandchildren during the weeks of Junior Camp (June 11-21). Following Junior Camp, the children’s books will be donated to the Florence Public Library, the Jarrell Community Library and the Connor’s Corner with Operation Breakthrough, an organization supporting disadvantaged children. The Community Association (CA) staff presentation begins at 9:15 a.m. and ends at 10:00 a.m. You will have an opportunity to meet the staff, learn how your CA operates, and gather valuable information.

Honor a veteran by adding an engraved brick to the Veterans Memorial Plaza with their name. You may Click Here to order a brick online or visit the Member Services Office. The deadline to order bricks for July placement is June 14. Contributions support the care and maintenance of the Plaza.

Just Say NO to Golf Carts & Grandkids!
Many grandchildren will be in our community during the summer, and there will be a temptation to allow them to drive a golf cart. It is against the law and extremely dangerous for anyone under the age of 16 and/or anyone without a driver’s license to drive a golf cart.

Weather Affects Street Maintenance Schedule
The City of Georgetown is conducting street maintenance around Sun City, however weather affects this schedule. Updates are posted on their website, but often the change in weather is quicker than they can update the site. If you have immediate concerns about work on your street, contact Chris Pousson, City of Georgetown Project Manager, at 512-930-8162. Otherwise, please check their website.

The Sun City Softball Club hosts a softball tournament benefiting Blue Santa. Four other teams from around the Central Texas Area will be coming to help raise money for Blue Santa. The highlight of the day is a game between the Georgetown Police and Fire Departments - always a great time and a great game to watch. There are bleachers or bring a comfy chair. Food sponsored by Wriggley's Pub & Mulligans. Prizes! Donations go to Blue Santa.
