Memorial Day Observance

Monday, May 27 • 9:30 a.m.

The annual Memorial Day ceremony, honoring the men and women of our armed forces who have given their lives in service to our country, will be held at the Veterans Memorial Plaza on Monday, May 27. The ceremony will begin at 9:30 a.m. The program begins with a presentation of the colors. The ceremony includes singing of the national anthem, presentation of wreaths at both Memorial Walls, and the sounding of taps.

Guest Speaker: United States Senator Ted Cruz
Music: 36th Infantry Division Band of the Texas Army National Guard
Flyover: Falcon Flight

Seating: 
Seven-hundred folding chairs will be placed at the Memorial. Guests are also invited to bring folding chair(s) to sit under the trees. The Community Association will serve refreshments on the Social Center patio after the ceremony on May 27.

In case of rain:
In case of rain, the Memorial Day events will be held in the Social Center Ballroom and seating will be limited to 600 to comply with fire code. If Monday's Ceremony is held indoors, it will be recorded so that residents may watch the program live on Channel 18 or on the website following the event. (www.sctexas.org/videos > Special Videos. Flags are flown at half-mast until noon.

Contributions support the care and maintenance of the Plaza. Deadline for July installation is June. 14.
