Come take a tour behind the scenes
at The Real Goodwill. Founded in 1902 by a
Methodist minister and largely perceived as a
thrift store, our tour will introduce you to the
Goodwill’s philosophy of “a hand up, not a hand out.” We will
take an exclusive look at everything from operations to mission,
hear from members of the Leadership Team and meet Central
Texans that have been empowered through our donations.
We begin at The Goodwill Community Center where we will learn
about education, job training, and the core mission of generating
lifelong connections to work. Then we will take a lunch break at
the Tech Ridge Center where you will have a choice of restaurants
for lunch on your own – Pei Wei, Chili’s, Souper Salad, or Carino’s
Italian.
Our final tour is through The Goodwill Resource Center where
you will see how your donations are sorted, recycled, and resold.
Amazing and inspiring, you are sure to leave saying, “I had no
idea Goodwill did that!”

Bodyguard, the Musical

Mention Bodyguard and thoughts
of the 1992 hit film starring the late Whitney
Houston and Kevin Costner are sure to come
to mind. Now it is a musical with all of the hit
songs we know and love such as I Will Always Love You and One
Moment in Time. The story follows the life of superstar Rachel
Morton and her bodyguard Frank Farmer, a former Secret Service
agent. He is hired to protect her from a stalker, never expecting

to fall in love with her but he does. Opening in London in 2012,
Bodyguard won Best New Musical and is currently playing
around the world.
Lunch is a must before our 2 p.m. show. Choose from a multitude
of restaurants and/or shopping at the River Center Mall or the
Riverwalk. Maps and suggestions will be provided before drop
off at the Menger Hotel.

the show.

It’s all about antiques – oodles and
boodles and acres of them at The Original
Round Top Antiques Fair. Let the shopping
begin!
Your ticket will gain you entrance to four venues – The Big Red
Barn, The Original Continental Tent, Henkel Square Market
Place, and the Historic Courthouse Square. Each venue has its
own original flair and style with unique and distinctive antiques,
collectables, vintage fashions, jewelry and re-purposed decorator
items. The Red Barn alone has over 80,000 sq. ft. of show space
featuring 5,500 dealers of distinction. Imagine the treasures you
will find as you explore each venue.
Shop ‘til you drop and check out the amazing selection of food
choices for lunch on your own. You will find local Texas vendors
mixed in with funky Austin food trucks and campy cafés. It
is a foodie paradise of tacos, burgers, artisan sandwiches and
homemade pie, served up with frothy brews, Hill Country wines,
iced lemonade, and crafted coffees. It’s all here at the one and
only original Texas antiques extravaganza.
