Sullenberger (Tom Hanks) tries to make an
emergency landing in New York’s Hudson
River after US Airways Flight 1549 strikes
a flock of geese. Miraculously, all of the 155 passengers and
crew survive the harrowing ordeal, and Sullenberger becomes
a national hero in the eyes of the public and the media. Despite
the accolades, the famed pilot now faces an investigation that
threatens to destroy his career and reputation.

Louisa “Lou” Clark (Emilia Clarke) lives in a
quaint town in the English countryside. With
no clear direction in her life, the quirky and
creative 26-year-old goes from one job to the
next in order to help her tight-knit family make
ends meet. Her normally cheery outlook is put to the test,
however, when she faces her newest career challenge. Taking a
job at the local “castle,” she becomes caregiver and companion
to Will Traynor (Sam Claflin), a wealthy young banker who
became wheelchair bound in an accident two years prior, and
whose whole world changed dramatically in the blink of an eye.
No longer the adventurous soul he once was, the now cynical
Will has all but given up. That is until Lou determines to show
him that life is worth living. Embarking together on a series of
adventures, both Lou and Will get more than they bargained

Interracial couple Richard and Mildred Loving
fell in love and were married in 1958. They
grew up in Central Point, a small town in
Virginia that was more integrated than
surrounding areas in the American South. Yet
it was the state of Virginia, where they were making their home
and starting a family, that first jailed and then banished them.
Richard and Mildred relocated with their children to the inner
city of Washington, D.C., but the family ultimately tries to find
a way back to Virginia.
Follies 2017: European Escapade
Feb. 27 - March 3, 7 p.m.

Many of our Sun City residents love to travel.
At this year’s Follies the audience become the
tourists as they take a not-too-serious look at
eight different European countries. On this
journey you will visit Downton Abbey, an Irish
Pub for a local music night, a French Lido Café to witness the
Can-Can, as well as see some great matadors in Spain, and
learn how golf was invented in Scotland.
The Follies is AcTAG’s most popular performance each year with
sell-out crowds. European Escapade is written, produced and
directed by Jan Noyes. Many of Sun City’s chartered clubs as
well as a talented team of musicians, performers, choreographers,
sound, light, backstage, set, props, costumes and countless other
volunteers come together for this year’s Follies, which promises
to be a shorter yet powerful and entertaining show running five
nights and ending with a matinee performance on Saturday.

Folkwine is a trio composed of Buenger Dickson
(tenor guitar), Les Newcomb (acoustic guitar),
and Joe Blanda (lead & slide guitars)
harmonizing on vintage folk, traditional, and
acoustic rock tunes from the 1950s to the 1970s.
Their set list includes songs from Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger,
the Everly Brothers, Peter, Paul & Mary, The Kingston Trio
and many others.
