Sherwood Forest Faire – McDade, TX - NEW!

Lunch on your own
Sunday, Apr. 2, $38 pp
Depart SCPL 10 a.m.; return 5 p.m.

Deep in the forest, a mystical, magical
gathering has begun. Robin Hood and his band
of merry men, along with creatures of the woods
                     – faeries, elves, and goblins are planning a
celebration of springtime.
We will travel to McDade (east of Elgin) to this renowned
Renaissance Festival where you shall encounter swashbuckling
pirates, knights in shining armor, and damsels in distress along
with tinkers, jesters, and beggars. The forest stages will entertain
with music, magic and storytelling while tradesmen of the shire
will offer unique pieces of clothing, jewelry, weaponry, leather and
wood crafts for the buying. Food and drink stalls will beckon
with tempting morsels of sweets, savory roasted meats, frothy
ales and fruity wines. If you are the sporting type, you will
want to check out the full-contact jousting, hand-to-hand combat
tournaments, archery, sword fighting, and falconry.
Step into this living fairytale and lose your cares for a day.
