removal. Removal of such debris, along with our ongoing removal
of fire hazards, aids in our continued Firewise efforts.

Hats off to the Facilities and Grounds staff as they change the
light bulbs, paint the buildings, set up your event and meeting
rooms, clear waterways, keep us Firewise, prune the plants,
mow common areas, replace the electrical and mechanical equip-
ment, fix the door that no longer closes and much, much more
on a daily basis.

Thanks to the Troops needs volunteers

Save the date of Thursday, June 2 for
Thanks to the Troops, an exciting day to
meet a visiting group of young warriors
stationed at Fort Hood. This tradition
started in Sun City in 2008.

For new residents who have not experienced a “Thanks to the
Troops” event, we bring 108 Fort Hood soldiers to Sun City
Texas for a Vet/Am (amateur) Golf Tournament. We have
shotgun teams with three soldiers playing with one of our
Sun City Veterans.

We need volunteers to help with various venues. There will
be a meeting in the Cowan Creek Walburg Room on Friday,
March 11 at 2 p.m. for those interested in volunteering.

Sun City’s advisory committees need your help! Advisory
committees assist and advise with the governing of Sun City
and need your experience and knowledge to help keep our
community a great place to live.

Look for applications at the Monitor’s Desks, Activities Center,
Texas Drive Fitness Center, Putters Café, Legacy Hills Grille
and on the Nominating Committee website. Applications must
be turned in to the Texas Drive Member Services Office by 4
p.m. on Friday, March 11. The Nominating Committee will
hold interviews the week of April 11.

group of applicants last fall, so if you applied and were not
selected by the CA Board please do not hesitate to try again.
