Beginners’ Mentoring. This class is
designed for those players who have
minimal knowledge of the game and rules.
Experienced club players are assigned
as mentors to train, evaluate and guide
player performance in an actual game
environment. Before graduating, players
should be able to demonstrate basic shot
strokes – forehand, backhand, volley,
overhead, and the serve; be able to sustain
a short rally with players of equal ability, 512-943-0073

doubles play. Beginner’s mentoring is open
to those Sun City Texas residents who
have completed Introduction to Pickleball
and are members in good standing of the

Dues for 2016 are $10 per resident and
that allows each member to participate in
as many of the games as he/she desires.
Texas Hold’em No Limit Tournament
The Poker Club will hold a $25 buy-in
Texas Hold’em No Limit tournament on
Tuesday, March 8. The tournament will
consist of no more than four tables with a
maximum of 40 players. A sign-up sheet
is posted on the bulletin board in Game
Room 3. You must place your name on
the sign-up sheet to reserve a seat for the
tournament.

The RV club brings together those
residents of our active lifestyle
community who also enjoy the
RV lifestyle. The result is a great
adventure. We currently number nearly
100 rigs of virtually every style and
configuration. Our members organize
group RV trips to a wide variety of
destinations throughout the year; they
are listed on our website. We meet once
a month except June, July and August
when many of our members are away
traveling. Interested residents can find

Self-Defense

The Self Defense Club’s primary goal is
to help our members develop awareness
of possible dangerous situations, how to
avoid them and how to escape or to defend
themselves if attacked. You will be taught
easy to learn self-protection techniques
that are very effective with a little training
and practice. No fighting, no martial arts.
• Club instructors are Sun City residents
with martial arts or other self-defense
training.
• Classes are held at the Cowan Creek
Amenity Center.
• Self-protection techniques are senior ori-
ented, easy to learn, remember and use.
• The techniques taught are tailored to
accommodate the physical limitations
of each individual.
• Training is non-combative with no sig-
nificant physical contact.
