ON A CLEAR DAY YOU CAN SEE FOREVER
One summer afternoon, members of the Nature Club’s Astronomy SIG had their telescopes set up in front of
the Social Center and invited passersby to take a look through the lenses at the sun. Sunspots, which resembled
small gray specks, were visible. Astronomy SIG meetings are open to all Sun City residents. See page 110 for
the group’s September program.
SCAVENGER HUNT
Gini Carey and Phil Dem-
ing had six of their teenage
grandchildren spend three
days and two nights with
them. One of the activities
planned was a scavenger hunt
in N19. The neighbors were
aware that the kids would be
coming during certain hours
one evening. The teens had
a list of 30 items to gather in
two hours. Pictured are the
kids with several of the items
they obtained. The kids loved
the activity and some resi-
dents sent emails stating how
much fun they had as well.
