The WGA 9-Holers tee off on Tuesdays,
alternating weekly play among all three
Sun City golf courses. In addition, golfers
are encouraged to attend our monthly
general meetings which are held on the
second Tuesday of each month.

WHO is a newly chartered Sun City
club that welcomes all residents. We
are a cohesive group with a passion and
purpose for caring, sharing and serving
the extended community. Our mission is to
support existing charitable organizations
with time, donations and assistance while
fostering camaraderie, fellowship and
inclusion. And yes, men are welcome, too.
We meet the fourth Monday of the month.
The agenda includes a business meeting
and a presentation from a nonprofit
organization, followed by a salad luncheon.
The members bring the salads and make a

$10 donation at each meeting. Annual dues
are $10 and may be paid online or at the
monthly meeting. Guests and prospective
members are welcome to join us. Just let
us know you are coming so that we may
welcome you. Our speaker in September
is Marjorie Gallece with Breast Cancer
Research Centers of Texas, a national
program that provides critical funding for
cancer research worldwide to fuel advances
in tumor biology, genetics, prevention,
treatment, metastasis and survivorship.
We have some exciting goals for 2015,
including learning arts and crafts that will
be created and later sold, volunteering for
Faith Lutheran Church’s annual Meals on
Wheels golf tournament and participating
in the Christmas Meals on Wheels event.
This July we have kicked off a special fund
raising drive that will benefit Sun City
residents who are benefitted by our local
Meals on Wheels provider Williamson-
Burnet Counties Opportunities, Inc.

and the $20 fee for the Orientation and
Training. Please bring your ticket to the
shop to sign up for Orientation & Safety
Training. Membership is open to all Sun
City Texas residents. The shop is designed
to accommodate woodworkers of all skill
levels.
We invite you to stop by the woodshop and
get a guided tour of our facility, talk about to the Bavarian Alps, a Costa Rica vacation,
your idea for a wood project or just talk.
Our training classes and extensive library,
paper and digital, help our members plan
projects and enjoy woodworking. We
conduct orientation classes twice a month
and enhanced classes quarterly.
We enjoy building Toys for Tots to provide
wooden toys for children at Christmas,
make kit projects for Camp Discovery and
help kids fighting cancer assemble them.
To raise funds for these projects, we sell
craft items at the woodshop throughout
the year and do other activities.

Zoomers has many very active social
groups with special interest in books,
table games, bowling, movies, dining out,
ZIE (Inside Events) Current Members

Don’t miss our next Zoomers Inside Event
scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 17. The Cotton
Patch will be catering our buffet dinner
that will be served at 6:30 p.m. Doors open
at 6 p.m. Bubba Cox and The Can’t Hardly
will be playing from 7-10 p.m. This will be
a sellout so buy your tickets early!
ZOE (Outside Events)
Our Zoomers Outside Events volunteers
have been very busy planning our 2016
trips. Openings are still available on our
Texas Tenors and New York Christmas
trips.
We will be releasing our 2016 schedule
that will include a Fall Foliage Cruise, a
Normandy Beach tour, a summer cool trip
and domestic trips including Colorful
Trails of the Southwest, a California
Rail Discovery trip and a deluxe trip to
Charleston and Savannah with more trips
and information about programs for the fall
of 2016. All the information is available on
our Zoomer website and we hope you will
join us on these fun-filled vacations.
