and fundraisers
and
to publish
volunteer opportunities
. We do not publicize monthly
meetings. All information must be received by the first of the month prior

AARP FREE TAX PREPARATION
AARP Tax-Aide Foundation offers income
tax assistance to those 60 and older every
Friday from9 a.m. to 4 p.m. through April
10 at CowanCreekAmenity Center. AARP
membership is not required.
Please bring the following:
• Copy of last year’s income tax return(s)
• W-2 forms from each employer
•Unemployment compensation statements
• SSA-1099 form if you were paid Social
Security benefits
• All 1099 forms (1099-INT, 1099-DIV,
1099-B, etc.)
• 1099-misc. showing any miscellaneous
income
• 1099-R form if you received a pension
or annuity
• All forms indicating federal income tax
paid
• All receipts or canceled checks if
itemizing deductions
• Social Security cards or other official
documentation for yourself and all
dependents
GEORGETOWN SYMPHONY GALA
The Georgetown Symphony Society will
present its third annual “Valentine Gala”
fundraiser Friday, February 6, beginning
at 6 p.m. in the Social Center Ballroom.
Tickets are $75 per person with reserved
tables available for eight or ten. Full details

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS BINGO
Bingo will be held on Sunday, February
8 and Sunday, February 15 in the Social
Center Ballroom. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.,
games begin at 6 p.m. Cash prizes will be
awarded. All proceeds are used to support
various charitable activities.

Author Chris Tomlinson
at the Georgetown
Public Library
The Friends of the Georgetown Public
Library’s Hill Country Authors Series will
feature author Chris Tomlinson on Friday,
February 20, at 2 p.m. at the library. Doors
open at 1:30 p.m. Tomlinson is the author
of
Tomlinson Hill: Sons of Slaves, Sons of
Slaveholders
, a non-fiction account of his
Texas family’s ownership andmistreatment
of black slaves prior to, during, and after
the Civil War.
Tickets are $15 in advance and $18 at the
door, available at the Second-Hand Prose
bookstore, located on the second floor of
