In the middle of March, I was writing for
the May issue of Sun Rays. As I sat at the
computer, the weather was cloudy and
damp with a few drizzles, temperature
was around 53, the red bud trees were
sprouting their beautiful pinkish purple
hues, our oak trees had tiny buds all over
them and the bluebonnets were about to
burst with color! The golf greens were
looking rather nice, but the fairways were
still dormant. We were looking forward
to May flowers brought on by some much-
needed April showers!
We are excited to report one huge hap-
pening that took place on March 18 at
Cowan Creek! With her six-iron in-hand,
Rozanna Rule stepped up to the tee box
on number 16 and scored a hole-in-one!
Can you just imagine the excitement that
exuded from the team of Maureen Flow-
ers, Shirley Stoner, Paula Elmers and, of
course, Rozanna?
Our group has gotten off to a slow start
for 2014, but it won’t be long before the
WGA-9 is in full bloom! The 14th Annual
Invitational Sun Bowl will take place on
Tuesday, May 20.

We are actively seeking newmembers to
join our group. Do not worry about not
knowing all there is to know about this
game or worrying that your game is not
good enough! We are a non-threatening
group and our golf ambassadors will
help you along the way. If you have never
touched a golf club before now, you may
