A Magical Night -
Senior, Senior Prom
By Marian Phillippi
O
n Saturday, April 26, Sun City Texas residents
will be dressed in their finest for the epitome
of the promenade—the Senior, Senior Prom!
The event will begin at 7 p.m. in the Social Center
Ballroom, with tickets at $15 per person. The evening
will be one to remember! Doc and the Cruisers will be
making their musical debut in Sun City Texas, playing
classics from the ’50s, ’60s, and ’70s. The night will
be filled with great music and lots of excitement with
beautiful women and handsome men.
This event is no ordinary dance; like many proms, this
event will also have a special feature that will, truly,
make this a night to remember—especially for the la-
dies! Upon arrival, each lady will have the opportunity
to join the drawing to be crowned the “Queen of the
Prom.” Our Master of Ceremonies, Jim Hastings, will
be drawing the winning name at intermission and there
will be a special ceremony to announce the winner. The
Queen will receive a beautiful rhinestone tiara to be
worn for the evening and kept as a special souvenir.
This Senior, Senior Prom is hosted by the Sun City
Texas Georgettes. Co-Chairs Sue Campbell and Helen
Supan have been working together for about a year to
put all of the details in place. The lively team, along
with fellow Georgette Cathy Francis, also sponsored
the November event “Glamour and Glitz.”
Ladies and gentlemen of Sun City Texas, this is your
chance at perfection. Perhaps for some, it will be your
first chance at an American rite of passage and, for a
precious few, a night to re-create one of the best times
of your life!
