Let’s kick off 2014 with a comfy and
cozy meeting at The Oaks! January is
the month for planning and daydream-
ing about spring gardening. First, cook-
ies, healthy snacks, hot cocoa and coffee
will be served. Next, we will gather at
tables moderated by Master Gardeners
and board members to share favorite
gardening tips (no matter how “far-out”
they may seem). A panel presentation
will follow, with a summary of the tips.
There will also be time for questions.
Whether you consider yourself a novice or
expert gardener, you are sure to go home
with new ideas―and maybe a door prize,
too! You will also have an opportunity to
check out a gardening book from our new
portable library.
2014 Dues and Membership
2014 promises to be another great year
for the Garden Club. We are planning
informative programs, exciting field trips
and the “Sixth Annual Sun City Garden
Tour” to be heldMay 2-4, 2014. You don’t
have to consider yourself a “gardener” to
join. If you have a yard, you qualify! Dues
for new and renewing members can be
paid online through the Sun City Texas
website, or bring a check for $12 (payable
to SCTXCA) to the January meeting.
Photos
In January, we take a break from Yard/
Gardener of the Month, so you won’t find
a photo of a featured yard in this issue.
But be sure to look at the Around Sun
City section for photos from the Octo-
ber 2013 club field trip to Homestead
Heritage.
