CHARTERED CLUBS
All new members are required to take
an Orientation & Safety Training, plus
a one-on-one Hands-on
Safety Training Session. Our training
classes and extensive library, paper and
digital help our members to enjoy wood-
working.
We have several main club projects dur-
ing the year: “Toys for Tots,” to provide
toys for less fortunate children at Christ-
mas, and “Camp Discovery” to provide
wooden kit projects to an American Can-
cer Society summer camp for children
fighting cancer. To raise funds for these
projects we participate in the fall Arts
& Crafts Fair.

Our Zoomers newsletter is available via

Social Activities
Zoomers has very active social groups,
which include those with a special in-
terest in books, table games, bowling,
movies, dining out, gourmet cooking,
wine tasting and beer tasting. In addi-
tion, there is one group that sponsors
a luncheon with a speaker focusing on
health, beauty and/or wellness.
ZOE (Outside Events)
Our Zoomers coordinators have been
very busy setting up theater trips, day
excursions and extended trips for our
Zoomers members in 2014. We will con-
tinually bring out new events throughout
the year. Presently, we have scheduled a
Best of Britain, Boston and Cape Cod,
American Parks, and a Sound of Music
trip. We are currently working on a New
England Cruise in the fall, an Africa
Safari trip and an exciting Christmas
Market cruise. We hope you will con-
tinue to travel with us in 2014 and a
very Happy New Year to all our Zoom-
ers friends.

POKER FACES
The Poker Club held a Texas Hold’em No Limit tournament on November 12
with 30 members participating in the event. Congratulations to Don Howard for
winning the tournament with Ben Lefkowitz placing second and Susan Euresti
placing third. Other winners: High Hand – Mogens (“Mo”) Hallgren (Straight Flush
in Diamonds); Bounty – Don Howard, Bob Cribbs and Charlie Payne.
