Sharing Our Stories
The coronavirus continues to affect populations across the globe. In an effort to slow the virus’ spread, many schools, restaurants and businesses (including Sun City Texas) have ceased normal operations and citizens have been strongly advised to stay at home. Sun Rays wants to know: how are you spending your time in quarantine?

Send your stories, suggestions and experiences to [email protected] and it may appear in our May issue of Sun Rays! Photographs are STRONGLY encouraged. Submissions must be received by Friday, April 3 and may not exceed 200 words in length. If you have any questions or comments, please contact Jaime Calder at 512-948-7745 or [email protected].
Annual Members Meeting / Board Election Postponed

Due to the CA Closure, the Board has approved staff’s recommendation to postpone the Annual Members Meeting to Thursday, August 27. The Resident Board Election will be delayed and staff will share a new timeline with the community including updates to the filing period and balloting procedures.

Questions?
Please contact Katie Newnam or [email protected], 512-948-7704, with any questions you may have about this very important annual process.

Golf Course Closures

The golf courses and all their facilities will remain closed until Monday, April 6 at which point the Board will reassess outdoor facilities.

During the closure we will be aerifying all three courses wall-to-wall. This includes pulling cores on tees, fairways and greens. We will also be slicing the rough. We previously planned to perform these tasks by closing each course for five days in June of this year. We now plan to be fully open for the month of June.

Golf cart paths are closed to pedestrian traffic. This is for your safety and we cannot stress this enough. With wall-to-wall aerifications we will have virtually every piece of equipment in use on and around the golf courses. These vehicles pose a serious threat to anyone walking, jogging or riding bikes on the cart paths. Please stay safe and stick to the sidewalks along the streets.

COVID – 19 Trash and Recycling Service Information

In order to reduce employees’ potential exposure to bacteria, the City is requesting residents bag all landfill trash and keep recyclable items loose. This limits employees’ contact with these materials. "Bag the bag" items can still be placed in the yellow recycling bag.

Texas Disposal Systems (TDS) continues to operate normally in Georgetown. The transfer station on Walden Drive remains open to the public. TDS staff are collecting landfill trash, recycling and yard/green items on normal schedules.

Home Delivery Service - Mulligan's and Wriggley's

Both Mulligan’s and Wriggley’s are offering home delivery service. Menu pricing will be the same as always. All menu items are available. There will be a 15 percent auto-gratuity added, plus a $5 delivery fee. At this time we are also able to offer beer by the six pack and wine by the bottle. Unfortunately, we need to be paid in cash for home delivery as we do not have portable credit card machines available.

If you would like, we can leave your order at your door, ring your doorbell, and you can leave an envelope with cash on your porch or meet us at the door. We also have take-out service available if you want to drive to either restaurant. At the present time, you are allowed to come in and wait for your order or we can bring the order to your car. We are trying to keep all of our employees employed through this difficult time. We have several servers who have kids at home -- unfortunately, with both restaurants closed to sit-down dining, there is no one to serve. These will be our delivery people. Thank you in advance for your patience and support.
