It has been said that exploring the rich cultural diversity and heritage of other people and their countries brings a global unity to our lives and a new appreciation of our home. Join us for just such an exploration as we take a docent-guided tour through the Institute of Texas Cultures, where 27 cultural and ethnic groups are represented in detailed exhibits featuring religious artifacts, household items, clothing, tools and more. Then, step into the heart of San Antonio at El Mercado, the original Mexican market, for lunch on your own and a bit of browsing through the shops. Finally, we will make our first visit to the Immaculate Heart of Mary painted church, giving us yet another glimpse into the cultural tapestry that has made us Texans – One and All!
