Cowan Creek Amenity Center, Georgetown RoomAARP Tax-Aide Foundation is once again providing free tax preparation advice/services in Sun City. Our goal is to safely produce an accurate tax return for everyone. To ensure safety and to meet all local, AARP and IRS site requirements, we are doing things differently due to COVID. Everyone must have to have an appointment - no walk-ins will be allowed. We don't plan to offer in-person assistance to complete your return (in other words you won't be sitting across the table as your return is being prepared). We will be offering what we call a drop off service. You will arrive at your appointed time, a tax counselor will review your ID, intake/interview form, tax documents and prepare an inventory of all your tax documents. You will then leave the site while your return is being prepared, and quality review will be performed. The tax counselor will call you if they have additional questions during this process. Once your return is ready, you will return to the site to review and sign your return. Your tax documents will then be returned to you. We expect that every return started will be finished in the same day. Under the AARP COVID guidelines, you will not be able to stay in the same room with the person preparing your return. You can wait in the lobby, parking lot or your home until you get the phone call that your return is ready to be picked up.
