In this Alfred Hitchcock thriller, professional photographer L.B. "Jeff" Jefferies (James Stewart) breaks his leg while taking an action shot. Confined to a wheelchair in his tiny New York apartment, he spends his time looking out his rear window and observing his neighbors, sometimes through a telephoto lens. Jeff begins to suspect that a man across the courtyard (Raymond Burr) may have murdered his wife. With the help of his beautiful, high-society girlfriend (Grace Kelly) and his nurse, Jeff tries to catch the murderer without becoming the next victim!
