Hello Cardmakers, DATE: February 26, 2020 TIME: 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. WHERE: Fabric and Fiber Studio 1 CIRT: June Zauber, Lucy Gill AUDIO/VISUAL: none needed this week PROGRAM: Card Formula Show and Tell On this Wednesday we will display the cards we made from one or both of the formulas given out. Please display your cards on the tables at the very back of room. We'll kind of wing it from there. NOTES: The template that Nicki Baird purchased for us that shows card size and thickness for postage is not in the cabinet. Can everyone please check their supplies to look for it. We think it might have been taken home by mistake. Let us know if you find it. Thanks. Celia Cawthon shared some great information on Embossing Folders. On April 1st, Celia Cawthon will be showing us how to stamp on silk. So far 25 have signed up for the class. The supply cabinet will not be open during this time, but will be available after the class has concluded. Those wishing to work on other things are welcome to do so. 2. Save the date -- On April 22, Karen Nalley from Stamp Salado will be here to teach us how do use colored pencils for card making.
There will be a $25 fee per person which will include 3 stamped images to color and a card base, mat paper and some embellishments for the 3 cards along with envelopes. There will be an intro about colored pencils and practicing of 3 blending techniques before coloring the images for the cards. For those who wish to invest, there will be a $10 charge for blending tools. The tools include paper stumps, sand eraser, sand paper sharpener, a white pencil, and a colorless pencil. This is an option -- you do not have to purchase these in order to take the class. I will have a sign-up sheet beginning March 4. At sign-up you will give a check for $25, or $35 depending on what you choose.
3. Save the Date -- May 13 is the date for our bus trip to Wimberly to the Sassy Scrappers scrapbook and card making supply store. We will leave about 8:00 a.m. and return about 5:00 p.m. The cost for the bus will be $25 per person. You will be responsible for your lunch. at the Crackle Barrell. Sign-up will begin April 8.
