The Merles are a classic country band from Austin featuring singer/songwriter Todd Deatherage. This group strives to create an old school, traditional sound with vintage guitars, pedal steel, fiddle, upright bass, tight vocal harmonies and a small drum kit. Their debut record, Hate to Say Goodbye, was recorded and engineered by Britton Beisenhertz at Ramble Creek Studios in Austin, TX. The album contains 14 original songs about heartache, love lost and honky-tonks. Guest artists include Basil McJagger (The Derailers), Geoff Queen (Hayes Carll), Eddie Dickerson (Curtis Grimes) and Michael St. Clair (White Denim). |
