We begin at County Line restaurant located on a hilltop overlooking more than 20 miles of scenic hill country. County Line’s Texas bar-b-que has a flavor all its own steeped in slow smoked perfection and sauced with savory goodness.

Lunch options to choose with ticket purchase:  (1) pulled pork (2) turkey breast (3) sliced beef brisket or (4) 3 brisket tacos. Choices 1-3 are served on fresh homemade buns and include lettuce, tomato, red onion, and dill pickle.  Tacos are sautéed with peppers and onions in flour tortillas and include homemade salsa and cheese. All choices are plated and include pinto beans, iced tea and vanilla ice cream; first 3 choices also include potato salad.

After lunch, explore 16,000+ years of Texas history at Bob Bullock’s new exhibition – Becoming Texas: Our Story Begins Here.  Learn about trading networks across the Americas as you view weapons, jewelry, tools, and imagery representing the diversity of early American Indian civilizations.  Discover European ambitions to colonize North America through weapons, heavy Spanish leather armor, and gold from a 1554 sunken treasure fleet that never returned to Spain. Immerse yourself in the Story of Texas from French explorer La Salle's failed attempt to establish a colony to life beyond the frontier in Spanish Catholic missions, military forts and settlements.

Time permitting, additional galleries will be open including the Special Exhibits Hall featuring Rodeo! The Exhibition.

Ticket cost includes transportation, lunch and museum fees. Maximum tickets: 39
