I am Carlos Rio and I will be this SIG’s coordinator for this coming year. Chris Meyer will be my back-up for when I am not available. When neither is available, another volunteer will be needed to lead the group.

Our objective is to capture better nature images by improving our technical and aesthetic skills. Our meetings include monitor-projected digital images based on a predetermined subject in nature. We discuss what could be done to improve the photograph and to optimize it post-processing to produce the best possible image. The benefit to group members is, hopefully, to become better nature photographers.
Meetings are scheduled on the 4th Fridays of the month from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the Photography Studio. At the beginning of each meeting we hope to have a presentation/lecture related to the subject planned for the following months.
So bring your 3-4 photos on a thumb-disk for every meeting, formatted to 1200 pixels along the long edge of the picture. We shall choose the 6 photos which the group considers the “Best” and put them on next month’s website page. The 2017 schedule meetings are on the 4th Fridays and the subjects are:
