River Tubing and Picnic – San Marcos River
and Wimberley Blue Hole Park
San Marcos/Wimberley - NEW!
Picnic lunch – Schlotzsky’s
Monday, Aug. 28, $48 pp
Depart SCPL 9:15 a.m.; return 5 p.m.
Grab your sunscreen, floppy
hats, and old tennis shoes for fun in the sun
and a float that doesn’t come with a straw. It’s
tubin’ time!
First stop - a dip and picnic lunch at The Blue Hole, one of the best
loved natural swimming holes in the Hill Country. This scenic
oasis, almost hidden in the center of Wimberley, is lined with
cypress trees, native grasses, wildflowers and rocky outcroppings.
When you purchase your ticket, choose a Schlotzsky’s ham,
turkey, or veggie sandwich – baked sourdough buns with melted
mozzarella, cheddar and Parmesan cheeses, black olives, lettuce,
tomato and signature dressing. Chips, pickle, cookie, and bottled
water included.
After lunch it’s off to San Marcos for a relaxing float down to
the Rio Vista Rapids, where you may exit or hold on to your tube
and “shoot” the three tiered rapids for a bit of chill and thrill!
The float trip takes approximately 1 – 1 ½ hours depending on
the flow of the river. Shuttles run every 20 minutes giving you
access to restrooms, snack bar and gift shop.
NOTES: You must be able to swim and get yourself in
and out of the water. Release signature required before
receiving tube. Styrofoam and glass not allowed. Don’t forget
sunscreen, hat, towel, and suitable footwear. Personal items will
be secure on the bus.
Ticket cost includes transportation, entrance fees, float tube,
and lunch.
