Making exterior revisions to your home
Guidelines for Modifications submittals
The Design Guidelines are available on the website at
Community Association Info > Documents.
Please take the following steps when applying for exterior
revisions to your home:
STEP 1. Review the “No Paperwork” list (Article 2.9 of the
Design Guidelines). If your project is listed there, read the
appropriate article about your planned modification.
If your project is not on the “No Paperwork” list or does not
meet those qualifications, read the appropriate guidance and
follow step 2.
STEP 2. Submit an application packet with the following:
A. 1) Complete Form B-2 if you wish to paint the outside of
your home a different color.
2) Complete Form B-1 for all other projects.
These forms are available at the Community Standards
Office across from Member Services, or on the website under
Community Association Info > Documents > Community
Standards / Modifications.
B. Different details are required for different types of projects.
Generally, you will need to provide a sketch on a plot plan
(obtained by sending an email to [email protected] with
the address and member number in the subject line).
Additionally, supply information about structural design,
exterior elevations, materials, colors and patterns. Color
photos are always helpful.
C. If your home is an adjoined cottage (duplex) home or a
landscape maintained home, special handling is required
as noted in the Design Guidelines.
D. A $30 check payable to Sun City Texas Community
Association or SCTXCA is required if not previously paid.
This is a one-time charge per homeowner per lot.
STEP 3. Submit your completed and signed application packet
to the Modifications Committee by mailing or delivering it to the
attention of the Community Standards Office, 2 Texas Drive,
Georgetown, Texas 78633. All attachments become the property
of the Community Association unless other arrangements are
made.
STEP 4. The Modifications Committee will consider your
application only after a completed, originally signed application
form is received. After Modifications Committee approval, you
remain responsible for obtaining City of Georgetown or other
governmental permits.
The deadline for submittals is 12 p.m. (noon) of the Friday
preceding the meeting (held on the first and third
Thursdays), unless otherwise noted for holidays. Results of
the Modifications Committee meeting on Thursday morning
are emailed the same afternoon unless other arrangements
have been made.
