Celebrate a successful and fun year
at the Garden Club December holiday
party. Wear holiday colors and bring a
side dish to complement the ham and
turkey provided by the club. Guests will
be the 2015 Garden Tour homeowners
and sponsors and representatives of
the four Williamson County charitable
agencies who will be presented donation
checks from the tour proceeds. There will
be festive food, camaraderie, and plenty
of door prizes. Please note the early start

December Field Trip
On Friday, Dec. 4, Garden Club members
will meet for a lite lunch/early dinner
at Eats on 8th then tour several of the
homes on the Sun City Holiday Home
Tour. Check the Garden Club website for
more detailed information.
Membership
We invite interested Sun City residents to
join the Garden Club for 2016. You don’t
need to be an experienced gardener to
enjoy the educational programs, field trips
and social events. You are sure to learn
something that keeps your landscape
thriving. Dues for 2016 can be paid
through the Community Association
ticket system, either online or at the
Member Services Office located in the
Texas Drive Social Center. Dues are $12
for both new and renewing members.

Hiking

The Hiking Club planned nearly 90 hikes
in 2015 as well as four fun social events.
We hike near - like the San Gabriel River
Trail and the Lake Georgetown Goodwater
Loop, and far - like Colorado Bend State
Park and Enchanted Rock State Natural

Our schedule in December includes around
two hikes a week, with nearby short jaunts
the Sun City Ticketing system. There are
McKinney Roughs and Ladybird Lake.

site. Be sure to login as a resident before
going to the club website. Interested folks
are welcome to join us on an introductory
hike before you join. See you on the trail.
Horseshoes & Washers

Horseshoe Courts

Newly arrived homeowners have been
joining our club, but we need more players.
Long-time residents are missing out on fun
and fellowship! Many of you have played
horseshoes in parks and at family picnics,
so what are you waiting for to join us? Our
club maintains 10 well-kept courts, so come
on down!
Shuffleboard SIG
Sun City Texas has an active Shuffleboard
group; approximately 20 individuals
belong to the Shuffleboard SIG and 20
other residents also play at the two courts
(adjacent to Bocce Courts, and next to
Horseshoes and Washers). The courts are
open every day to residents. Although there
is no league play, members of the SIG and
other residents gather at the courts at 1
p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday to play
for one hour. Newcomers are welcome to
join us any time.

With the start of December, the Horti-
culture Club welcomes its new officers:
President Randy Brown; Vice President
Directors: Nancy Bond, Joe Gadberry,
John Schwebke and Barb Phelps.
It is time for 2016 dues renewal. If you
wish to pay by credit card, you can use
detailed renewal instructions on the club
microsite.
There is no member meeting in December
and next year’s meetings will be moving to
the first Monday of the month starting in
January. All member meetings will be from
1-2 p.m. at the Cowan Creek Amenity Cen-
ter in the Florence Room. Be sure to check
the club website for the latest information.
