Police and Fire Station Tour
– Georgetown - NEW!

Vineyards Wine Tasting - Florence
Lunch – Dale Essenhaus
Tuesday, September 29, $62 pp
Depart SCPL 9 a.m.; Return 4 p.m.

                                             In 1948, the Georgetown
Police Department began with the chief of police
and two patrolmen. Today it has grown to a
full-time staff of 74 officers, 24 civilian support
staff and various other personnel. The new
police and fire station was completed earlier this year after the
bond approval in 2011. This 20-acre site houses not only the police
and fire departments but the training facility, call center,
administrative offices and classroom space. Our personal tour
will last about 90 minutes and includes walking, standing and
climbing stairs.

After the tour, we are off to Walburg for lunch at Dale’s. We will
feast on their famous walburger and fries, soda or iced tea, and
apple cake with ice cream for dessert. No menu changes available.

That will put a kick in our step for our next adventure – wine
tasting at The Vineyard at Florence. The Vineyard villa, built in
the Italian architectural style and simple Italian interior, invokes
Italian memories. We will sample four of their state wines as we
stroll along the decks with views overlooking the vineyard, polo
field and herb garden.

Note: This is a small bus tour limited to 25 people. The
bus does not have the usual amenities and can be bumpy.
Ticket cost includes transportation, tour, lunch and wine tasting.
