Escape the heat on a hot summer
night! On Friday, July 10, we will
have a FREE Country Western Dance
featuring Frankly Country. Only 320
tickets are available for this event. To
attend, you must get your complimen-
tary tickets (online or at the Member Services Office).
Tickets will be available beginning Wednesday, July 1,
at 8 a.m. Each household is limited to two tickets.
Birthday for Uncle Sam
Thursday, July 2, 8:30 a.m., VMP - Free
Come to the Veterans Memorial Plaza on
Thursday, July 2, at 8:30 a.m. as we celebrate
Uncle Sam’s birthday. Members of the Sons
of the American Revolution, dressed in
Revolutionary War uniforms, will participate
in this celebration and special music will be provided. Join in
the sing-along and enjoy birthday cake served by the Daughters
of the American Revolution. There will not be an Independence
Day parade, so we hope you will bring your lawn chairs and join
us for the fun at the Plaza!

“America, I Salute You”

The Sun City Singers proudly present an
Independence Day concert, “America, I Salute
You.” Beloved compositions from Cohan, Sousa,
Gershwin and an award-winning song made
famous by Sinatra are included for your listening Wednesday, July 8, 9:30 – 11:30 a.m., ACA
enjoyment. Always a feature is the traditional sing-along “Salute
to the Armed Forces.” What a wonderful way to celebrate our
country, our military and the freedom they fight to defend.
Be sure to arrive early for a special treat, a 30-minute pre-concert
by the wonderful Dixieland ensemble, Just Friends. They will
quickly have your toes tapping.
Reserved seat tickets are on sale for $6 at the Member Services
Office or online at www.sctexas.org.

Auditions for “After-Play” - NEW!

Cast needed: three women and four men
Set in the newest “in” Manhattan restaurant, the play opens with
an ethereal waiter preparing for the arrival of a party of four.
Just as the two couples are about to enter, it magically begins to
snow, making the night perfect for a cozy after-theater supper.
The two middle-aged couples, Marty and Terry, and Renee and
Phil, old friends reuniting after three years, have just seen a
new Broadway play.
Discussing the play and playing catch-up leads to some insightful
revelations about their lives. More drinks are ordered and their
mysterious waiter serves dinner, and the two couples discuss
sex, the wearing of fur, matters of health and problems with
their children.
A third couple, Emily and Matt, acquaintances of Marty and
Terry, stop by the table to say hello. After introductions, they are
convinced to stay for a nightcap even though Emily has already
had too much to drink. Emily makes a dramatic and emotional
revelation.
The play will run November 9 – 14 in the Atrium.
Anne Meara wrote this play for herself and partner Jerry Stiller.
The dialogue is New York snappy, both funny and poignant.
Underneath the play’s main theme is a mysterious Twilight Zone-

Auditions for Sun City’s Got Talent!
Do you love to perform? Final auditions are
being held for Sun City’s Got Talent! Audition
with a song, skit, comedy, dance or any talent
you may have. Performers will receive a fun tee
shirt for a souvenir and a chance to win one of
the lucrative prizes for first, second and third place.
Note: there will be two rehearsals and one dress rehearsal the
week of the show.

The Sieker Band brings bluegrass, even the
banjo, to new heights. After playing Bluegrass
Music in Europe for several decades, Rolf and
Beate Sieker now live in Texas, where they
created their own sound influenced by Texas
