The Poker Club held a Texas Hold’em
No Limit tournament on August 12 with
26 members participating in the event.
Congratulations to Tony Robbins for
winning the tournament with Chuck
Potts placing second and Ernie Sydow
placing third.

What are the ingredients for a yard that’s an immediate eye-catcher and entices
you to see more? Paula and Norm’s masterful recipe calls for two parts balanced
foundation of bushes and trees, one-part flowering plants for pops of color and
a final dash of whimsy. The fun immediately starts as you approach the yard. On
your right, tucked in a shady raised bed full of greenery, sits a whimsical bunny
perched on a rock updating his email. As you continue toward the front door,
you pass by a large hummingbird-pleasing coral honeysuckle in bloom. Next, you
are enticed to sit awhile in comfortable chairs shaded by a wall of passionflower
vines. The rear of the yard is even more spectacular. A large smiling sun and
several windmills quickly catch your attention and encourage you in to take a
closer look. Plantings include daisies, daylilies, zinnias and cactus that strut their
stuff in the shade of a wax myrtle and a chaste tree. This beautiful yard shows it
pays to start with a good balance of foundation plantings and that there is fun
to be had when a touch of whimsy is added! ~
