Our Cuers: Tricia Morley and Dennis Artz

Tricia and Dennis have been teaching in Austin and Houston area since 2020. They created their own club Step 'N Style in 2021 and currently teach and que weekly in La Grange, Bastrop, Georgetown & Houston. Tricia is asked to cue at many different State and National events throughout the year all over the US. They are members of Roundalab, ICBDA, Texas State Callers Association, Houston Callers Association, Houston Square and Round Dance Council and are Presidents of Texas Square and Round Dance Teachers Association, Vice Presidents of Austin Square and Round Dance Association. Tricia is Assistant Chair for the Round dance program at Nationals in Waco 2026, and Director for Rounds for Nationals in Louisianna 2025. They are VP of the Mid-Tex Committee. Tricia is Chairman for the round dance program at State 2024 in Bryan College Station and also Chairman for the Texas Federations' Presidents dance in October 2024 in La Grange. They serve on the Phase 3, Phase 4 and Phase 6 Roundalab committees, proof read the Journal and work on the abbreviations committee. They have presented several dances at TSRDTA and have presented their own choreography at State and Nationals in 2022 and 2023.

They both enjoy square dancing and dance at the C3A level regularly. Tricia & Dennis also teach SSD and mainstream square dance lessons.

Tricia grew up learning international ballroom in London, England and later became Houston and State Champion in West Coast Swing in Texas. She also taught Country and Western dancing in Houston and competed on the UCWDC circuit for many years. Having only discovered Round Dancing 2015 they are totally committed to keeping dancing alive and well in Texas.

Tricia has two boys, living in Houston and New Mexico and 6 grandchildren. She is a Real Estate Broker and had her own very successful firm in Houston. Dennis a former Lieutenant for the Houston Police Department has three children living in Austin, Pullman and Seattle. Dennis and Tricia retired from Houston to run a cow/calf, cattle ranch operation in southeast Austin.
