Political Sign Displays
Submitted by Carl Zimmerman,
Community Standards Director,
The community’s political sign policy allows residents to display political signs related to an upcoming election from 90-days prior to the election until 10-days after the election. Tuesday, March 3, is the next election day in Texas. Residents could start displaying signs for candidates or measures on the March 3 ballot on Wednesday, December 4. These signs must be removed no later than Friday, March 13.
Residents are limited to no more than one sign for each candidate for an office or for each measure on the ballot. A recent change to the policy allows that if there is a difference of opinion between members of the household on which candidates are supported, additional signs may be displayed. Each household member’s choice of candidates must be displayed in separate places on the lot.
Please contact me at 512-948-7461 with your questions.

Highway 195 and Berry Creek Drive Project Starts
A construction project on State Highway 195 at Berry Creek Drive is set to begin this week. The project by the Texas Department of Transportation will improve safety by closing the existing crossover and rerouting turning traffic to new turnarounds and auxiliary lanes.
The $776,000 project includes the construction of a new auxiliary lane from I-35 to a new crossover located about 1200 feet north of the current Berry Creek crossover. A right-turn lane for Berry Creek Drive also will be constructed. Once complete, traffic wishing to turn left on Berry Creek Drive will U-turn at the new crossover and merge over to the new turn lane to access Berry Creek Drive. Berry Creek Drive traffic wishing to head north on SH 195, will turn right on SH 195 and use a new acceleration lane to merge with traffic and U-turn at a new crossover west of the I-35 frontage road.
During construction, the existing crossover at Berry Creek Drive will remain open to traffic. Once construction of the new turnarounds is complete, traffic will be shifted and the old crossover will be removed.
The contractor for the project is Angel Brothers Construction. The project is expected to complete this summer.
