“Invisible” Fences Clarification
Electronic “invisible” fences are not recognized by either the Community Association or the City of Georgetown as a physical fence. Only pets inside an area that is enclosed with a physical fence may be off leash in residential areas. Pets outside of an area enclosed with a physical fence in a residential area are required to be on a leash held by a person. The pet is considered “at-large” if these conditions are not met. Georgetown Animal Control may impound at-large pets and the owner is subject to being cited for a Class C misdemeanor and up to a $200 fine from the City of Georgetown. Both Sun City’s Dog Park (on Sun City Blvd) and Georgetown’s Dog Park (at 151 Holly Street) offer off-leash spaces for your four-legged friend. They each have unique rules and residents are encouraged to read those rules before using both facilities.

If it's too hot for your bare feet,
it’s too hot for pets!
If you can't stand on the sidewalk or blacktop barefoot for at least 10 seconds without feeling like your feet are burning, then you should not have your pet on the sidewalk or street. Temperatures that hot can burn your pets' pads and cause serious injury. The general rule of thumb is that if it's 85 degrees or hotter, keep your dog on the grass and off the streets/sidewalks.

Submitted by Carlton Mathis, Common Area & Irrigation Superintendent,
We continue to make good progress into Phase 2. We’ve had some equipment failure, but the lack of rain has helped us to keep a steady pace. We will be making a heavy push with line trimmers this week to get us caught up with the mowers.
