“March Madness” expanded to the Great Outdoors on Friday, March 10, when 14 hardy hikers successfully tackled the 27-mile-
long Goodwater Loop trail which completely encircles Lake Georgetown. Sunny skies, a light breeze and ideal trail conditions
enabled the determined group to traverse the rocky, hilly route in less than twelve hours. The event attracted a record-breaking
number of participants and marked the ninth consecutive year that the Club has sponsored the Marathon. An enthusiastic
support team tracked the hikers’ journey, providing refreshments and encouragement at strategic rest stops along the way.
At trail’s end, cheering fans treated the Marathoners to a well-deserved celebration in honor of their achievement.
