Memorial Day Ceremony
Monday, May 30, 9:30 a.m., VMP
The annual Memorial Day Ceremony, honoring
the men and women of our armed forces who
have given their lives in service to our country,
will be held at the Veterans Memorial Plaza
on Monday, May 30. The ceremony will begin
at 9:30 a.m. Texas Governor Greg Abbott will
be the guest speaker, and music will be provided by the 36th
Infantry Division Band of the Texas Army National Guard.
Everyone is invited, so put the date and time on your calendar!
20th Anniversary
Home and Garden Show

To celebrate our 20th Anniversary, door prizes
and giveaways will be distributed at this event.

improvement zone” where you can turn your
home and garden dreams into reality! Come

Visual Arts Club Annual Summer Show

The Visual Arts Club will celebrate 18 years
in Sun City at their Summer Art Show
opening reception featuring works of early
and current members, a memorabilia display,
demonstrations and refreshments. There will
also be a silent auction for a work of art by members of the club.
Show is free and on display until July 22.

It’s no secret that grandparents love their
grandchildren. In fact, many Sun City
residents moved here to be close to their
grandkids. Over the River and Through the
Woods is a delightful, heartwarming and funny
play about family and the lengths they will go through to keep
their family intact.

Sun City Singers
Independence Day Concert - NEW!

Tickets go on sale June 1 for the Sun City
Singers’ celebration of America’s birthday, a
patriotic concert at 11 a.m. Friday, July 1 in
the ballroom. The Singers, under the direction
of Georgia Parmelee, will honor our nation’s
history with a selection including traditional patriotic songs
like America, the Beautiful, The Battle Hymn of the Republic,
and the Star-Spangled Banner. Along with these solemn songs,
the choir will include a George M. Cohan collection featuring
Yankee Doodle Dandy, Give my Regards to Broadway and You’re
Singers offer a Salute to the Armed Forces, Texas, Our Texas,
This Is My Country, and the Woody Guthrie classic This Land
Is Your Land.
